Please ensure that you have correctly configured your app to collect step data. Full instructions on how to set up Winnie to track your steps can be found here.

Your step count data is regularly uploaded to our servers from your device. This information is then updated whenever you interact with the app. The data transfer can take a little time, so you might notice small differences between the step count shown in your device data and the number in Gets Active.

Please also note that device data is merged and processed by Google Play or Apple (depending on what kind of device you have) using their own algorithms. This means your device step data will never exactly match the app step data. However, the two numbers should be similar.

If your step count is not updating, please try visiting different areas of the app, as this may resolve the problem. If your step count still hasn't updated after an hour, please reach out to Customer Support

If you have won a cash prize from an in-app competition, this will be automatically credited to your wallet within the Winnie by Lightfoot app. Cash prizes can be withdrawn at any point individually or in bulk to your personal PayPal account, or donated to charity via the wallet page.

If you are entered into a competition and achieve your target, you will be presented with a single prize ticket or multiple tickets, depending on the competition. You can check whether you are a winner by clicking the 'Reveal Result' button.

If you are unable to reveal the results due to a technical glitch, the prize reveal will still be available if you have a winning ticket.

If the competition has disappeared from the dashboard, it means you didn't win a prize this time. To access the competition details, go to the 'Ended' tab on the Competition page, as all past competitions are listed there.

Gets Active takes your step count from your device's default health data. The simplest way to count your steps is to take your phone with you when you go for a walk so Apple Health or Health Connect can track them directly and share this information with Winnie by Lightfoot.

If you forget to take your phone with you, there is a way to sync your device's health data with other activity apps like Fitbit - see the next FAQ for more information.

To find out more about how your data is being processed, visit our Privacy Policy page.

Download the Health Connect app on Android and Fitbit for Apple Health Sync to auto-sync steps and more!

We are currently working on a near real-time sync which will be available soon. Until then data refreshes every time you switch between the tabs on the app.

Winnie doesn’t directly collect your step count: to get this information, Winnie needs to sync with a different system on your phone.

We are aware of some syncing issues with Samsung Health, so if you are using this app to track your steps, please make sure that your Health Connect app is also syncing with Google Fit.

Please ensure you’ve set up Health Connect properly, following the instructions on this page.

To get started with Lightfoot Gets Active, you need to manually allow access to your step counting data.

To allow Lightfoot Gets Active to sync with the correct data, please do the following:

  • Go to Settings > Health > Data Access and Device
  • Select Winnie
  • Toggle on to allow step data access

Android:

  • Go to Health Connect > App Permissions
  • Select Winnie
  • Toggle on to allow step data access

Please note: you will have been prompted to do this when you first logged into Lightfoot Gets Active - you only need to follow the steps above if you have not previously enabled step count data access.
