The OBD (On Board Diagnostic) port that Lightfoot connects to is designed to offer free choice of aftermarket service providers and ensure drivers are not locked down to any particular provider/manufacturer or unfair/mandatory charges or costs. This means the driver/vehicle owner gets to decide what they want to connect to it, not the vehicle manufacturer or anyone else.
